Koomapatty—a small, beautiful village near Western Ghats of Virudhunagar District in Tamil Nadu. Koomapatty lies about 5 km west of Vathirairuppu, surrounded by lush green hills and set along the route to Kansapuram. It’s not a real island, but it feels like one—calm, green, and far from the busy world. Locals say that long ago, a nobleman named Abdullah Rowther Sahib lived in Koomapatty. His large house had a special Sufi shrine that people still visit today. Stories from that time talk about golden chariots, elephants, and horses, showing how grand life was back then. The place, known as “Athi Diwanshah Oliyyullah,” remains a spot of prayer and respect. With ancient temples, forest trails, and nearby waterfalls, Koomapatty is a perfect escape for slow travelers and culture seekers.
