Manimandapam

Rajarajan Manimandapam is located in the Southern Part of Thanjavur. It was built in 1991 during the 8th World Tamil Conference. It is a beautiful structure and is built in the style of the buildings constructed during the Chola period. The small and well maintained garden inside is an ideal for children with swings, slides and other such things. It is having a museum in the ground floor, which was built in 1984 to commemorate the 1000th birth anniversary of Raja Raja Chola, who as the most famous king in Thanjavur. ​The museum at Thanjavur Manimandapam has a collection of sculptures, bronze statues, paintings, coins and other artifacts to attract the visitors. The statue of Raja Raja Chola is a thing of great beauty. Manimandapam has surrounded by beautiful gardens, delightful lamps. In the middle, they decorated this place with fountain. Visiting this place during night, gives wonderful experience.
