Pollachi
The Pollachi is a green town and a taluk headquarters in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu state, India. Located about 38 km to the south of Coimbatore and 64 km to the south of Tiruppur. It is the second largest town in the district after Coimbatore. Pollachi is a popular Marketplace for jaggery, vegetables,chill climate ever in the plains, cattle. As of 2011, the town had a population of 70,180.Pollachi is one of the biggest Markets in Asia and the cattle market of Pollachi is considered as the largest in southern India. Pollachi is often known as 'Coconut Capital' of Tamil Nadu, where coconut exports and coir mills flourish Pollachi is the oldest capital of King mudi konda cholan, it is called at that time as 'Mudi konda chola nallur',It is also known as Porulaatchi,pullachy and known for its natural chill climate.
