Virajpet

Virajpet is situated in the southwestern part of Karnataka, in the picturesque region of Coorg. It is approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Madikeri, which is the district headquarters of Kodagu. The town is surrounded by lush greenery, coffee plantations, and the scenic landscapes of the Western Ghats. The region is known for its hilly terrain and pleasant climate. Virajpet, like much of the Kodagu district, has a significant economy based on agriculture, with coffee being one of the primary crops. The town is surrounded by numerous coffee estates and spice plantations. Virajpet is part of the traditional Kodava (Coorgi) culture. The local residents, known as Kodavas, have unique customs, traditions, and festivals that contribute to the cultural richness of the area.
